Toy Soldiers XBL

Post by Fairweather Pure »

This is a tower defense game with lots of unique twists. It takes place in WW1 and you play as toy soldiers on a toy playfield. You can jump in and manually control any of your defenses at any time. You will spend the majority of the game jumping in and out of emplacements as well as upgrading and repairing your structures. You can even play online vs other players.

It has really fun graphics and the setting is totally unique. It's 1200 MS points, which is kind of pricey IMO, but this game was a shoe-in for me. At the very least, you owe it to yourself to give the demo a try.

I'm not really a tower defence type of guy, but this game really takes the genre into a whole new direction IMO. Great fun!

Well, I played 2-3 single player missions last night just before bed, and I had dreams about playing Toy Soldiers pretty much all night long. I had never ending waves of tanks, and I only had machine guns to fight them with. It was pretty frustrating!

I picked this up and have been enjoying it. Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but it's a fun little game.

The only tip I've learned is that if you take out the initial waves manually, you get more money to build and upgrade defenses much faster. It's all about the multipliers for more cash, so sustained fire and proper placement of artillery rounds is key!

The south park tower defense game on XBL was great too. I'll have to give this one a try.
