This game looks interesting as does almost anything coming from NCSoft.

The Destroyer class looks like fun.

Every character looks like they've been oiled up in the video! I wonder what this game is trying to promote!

Aion wasn't a stop-gap,

Check this video to see improvements coming for Aion, on top of it's already impressive graphics. The huge walking siege tower thingies at the end look really cool.

9 minute video showing upcoming enhancements to Aion.

Aion also recently put down the Ban Hammer and banned a bunch of players, improving the farming situation.

Obviously you're not familiar with the seekrit NCSoft MMORPG language so I translated it in the original message!

Sensible armor that focuses on protecting the family jewels. (note: pic has nothing to do with Blade and Soul!)

NCSoft can go fuck themselves, I've never seen an MMO rendered so unplayable as Aion within the first 2 weeks by rampant botting with apparently no motive to bother fixing it.

It had all the grind of EQ with none of the carrot and 80% of the population on Nezekan was scripted.

You are incorrect!
NCSoft Bans 16,000 Aion Users
24 Nov 2009 at 17:00:28 by Andy Alderson

NCSoft has banned 16,000 users from playing its MMO Aion.

Following a server-wide reboot yesterday, NCSoft revealed on the game’s official forums that, rather than maintenance, the downtime was needed to ban 16,000 users.

“Over the last week, we’ve been working on a list, we’ve been checking it twice, and today we found out who was naughty or nice,” said a post on the forum.

Reasons for banning are varied, but NCSoft made it clear it had gathered weeks of info on ‘bottlers; (those who use third party software in game) or taking part in real money trading.

Thos who feel they have been unjustly banned can contact NCSoft here, although the company insists it has “sophisticated processes and procedures in place that help us keep unwarranted banning to a minimum.”

“Our goal is to ensure our legitimate players are having the best game experience possible. Please note that you don’t need to submit multiple tickets, as we will review a specific case only once,” said the post.

“We obviously take these violations seriously, but also want to make sure that legitimate players aren’t banned unnecessarily.”

Do you know anyone who has been banned? Let us know why in the comments section below.

Too little, too late. And 16,000 wouldn't be half the bots on Nez.

Well, I do play EQ2. :) This next expansion in Feb should be what makes or breaks it for me....still bummed the next expansion is not Velious though. :(

The thing is, I want what EQ2/EQ1 provide but with a more modern engine. Not sure where EQ1 is at, but EQ2 is still rather inefficient, resource-wise. I suppose we will not see a total revamp of either product though...EQ3? lol

No. I'm not going to touch another churned out asian MMO. NCSofts standards are far too low.

I'll try this one out as soon as someone figures out how to get into the Korean or Chinese beta again like with Aion.

LOL, I guess Gen Y have "wives and teenagers" now:
Good job to everyone screaming for bans. I was banned today for RMT Kinah and Botting. You have accomplished what you set out to do, unfortunately you have also doomed the game. I am guessing at least 50% of people that play mmorpgs fall into the same category as me. I play with my family, we have four accounts. My wife and I both work full time while trying to keep the house and raise the teenagers, we cannot log into this game for 20 hours+ per week. I am happy for all of you that can be glued to the screen but it is not reality for working families that want to maintain a real life and play an mmorpg casually. The time we are permitted to play would see us hitting level 50 sometime towards the end of 2010. This game is focused on end game PvP which is what we love. In order to play this game and participate with others you must put in a minimum of 20 hours per week if not more. We are moving on to another mmo in search of entertainment without the cost of minutes of our lives. It is a shame that so many people undervalue there life so much that they are willing to throw it away in front of a screen. I wish everyone could realize that their time on this earth is limited and so very valuable. Purchasing Kinah and Botting allows me to enjoy the game without wasting my precious minutes farming/grinding. For those of you who will scream "I have a sense of accomplishment, you cheated, I earned it!" earned what? I enjoyed every second of the game and playing it with my family for a few hours on the weekends, and I will enjoy another game very soon. All you have earned is nonsense, when you lay in your deathbed think back to all of the precious time you spent staring at your little box, I will think of the time I spent with my family having a blast. I would be willing to bet half of the mmorpg population is in my boat and value there minutes to much to give over to your false sense of accomplishment, we will see...
fucking entitlement generation douchebags.

This looks pretty funny. In Aion, when they ban someone, break out a giant bunny and blast the player into a volcanic fissure. Cool! Have fun with the ban hammer!

Wielding the banhammer on Xbox Live and other static virtual communities (like this little blog here) can be a strangely disconnected experience. One second you're here, the next you've vanished. Not so in Aion: Tower of Eternity.

In that game, you know when you've been banhammered because a giant freaking rabbit shows up or a flaming squirrel materializes and then blasts you into a volcanic fissure. It's pretty dramatic.

Speaking of NCSoft,

here's a video introducing the five playable races:
