Beatles beat GH 5!

Batman AA sold more units on the PS3 than the 360! This is the first multi system game to do so in over 13 months! I think that has to do with the price drop + being a highly reviewed game at the right place at the right time. The PS3 version also had that exclusive content, so perhaps Sony is wising up on that front and may pay more for exclusive content in the future. Modern Warfare 2 will be the true test IMO.

The 360 continues to dominate in terms of overall contribution though. Halo ODST is a beast, but I don't think it will have legs. I could be wrong though!

The PS3 has finally broken the streak! The PS3 has been outsold by the Xbox 360 and the Wii for the past 13 months straight.

Sony is losing $108 per console. At 491,800 consoles that's a loss of $53,114,400!

So for a lead of 29k over their closest rival Sony lost $53 Million Dollars. And that's in the American market alone.

Sony losing $100 on every PS3 Slim sold

Will PS3 sustain these sales? Maybe. The release of the 250GB PS3 will help (Early adopters am cry).

Will PS3 sustain these sales? No? The PS3 Slim dropped over 2/3rd in only its second week on sale in Japan.

Price cut = Small Increase, New Hardware + Price Cut = Larger Increase

Only one PS3 game in the top 10.
Ouch! That is some cold, hard facts right there.

Batman AA sells more on PS3 than 360! That is the first time that has happened since forever.
The PS3 versions of FIFA 10 and NFS:Shift are also outselling the 360.

PS3 sucks. Demon's Souls rocks but my hands can't take it anymore! Controller blows ass.

PS3 outsold 360 for one month due to extreme measures and suckering people into buying them with a price cut. The 360 is due for prcie cut and is going to integrate Natal into a console package whichis expected to add only $50 to the price of the console while Sony's gay Wand will add $100. 360 will win the numbers war easy.

You have some sort of pre-existing carpal tunnel or something? I've never had that type of pain with my DS3.

It bugs my hands too.. I've been checked for carpal tunnel and they told me I don't have it, but my hands get cramped and hurt after a few hours of playing the PS3, and I can play the 360 for hours on end and not have the same problem.

Hmm.. Perhaps it's a bone structure thing. I play on both for hours without any pain. I do agree that the 360 controller is more confortable though.

The 360 controller actually bothers me because of the placement of the battery pack and the extreme weight of the unit, compared to the PS3 controller. Of course, I have played the PS style controller for years so part of it may be just being used to it. The other thing that bothers me about the 360 controller is the uneven analog stuck placements, but thats mainly a preference thing (I prefer a more symetrical layout on a controller). The one thing that the 360 has on the PS controllers is the better secondary triggers (which is why Winnow is probably bitching about wankers cramp) in the sense that they hook out and feel more intuative, but the start/select equivalents are in kind of a dumb spot.

That said, I never thought a third party RPG would be the one to do it, but Demon Souls is the kind of game that seems to have people converted. Well, that and the complete absence of anything exclusive worth a shit on the 360 in like forever. The fact that the developers are starting to get the handle on the PS3 (and hitting the performance ceiling of the 360) is also factoring in. Rest assured that the Xbox fanbois will always have their shooter titles to dick wave over, so its not going anywhere, but the PS3 is starting to see some of its long term potential come to fruition.

PS- Be honest Winnow. Even after grinding 4-2 reaper for a billion hours the game still got too hard for you. Hell, I am taking a break just because I got bored IN the grinding up to run 4-2.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.

I think the combination of what bugs my hands with the PS3 controller is the triggers and the analog sticks. To be honest having the sticks be symmetrical and closer together is the biggest part of the problem for me. The layout of the 360 controller, while different than whats been done in the past, and not what you are used to, is much more ergonomic friendly.

EDIT:
And the collective hard-on here on VV for Demon's Souls in no way, shape or form signifies any kind PS3 takeover.
If you can honestly say that you think the PS3 is gaining any kind of ground (temporary sales increases due to price drop excluded) on the 360 you're the one being a fanboi...

Just because the kind of games you like aren't coming out on the 360, doesn't mean nothing significant has came out on the 360. There has been a consistent flow of good, exclusive titles for the 360 since release.. Not to mention that damn near every x-platform game sells considerably more on the 360, you can be like Sony and blame that on a higher install base of the 360 but I assure you once the gap there closes you'll be looking for another excuse.

I am taking a break from Demon's Souls but it wasn't because of the difficulty (yet, i'm not as far along as you) I'm at soul level 57 I think. I had just upgraded my (cant think of the name, best bleeding weapon) to +4 Crescent and it did some insane amount of samage (I back stabbed something for like 700 hps) but my next trip was to the 3-3 move for the home soul spell and I had just finished killing the doppleganger lady in the church and didnt feel like going back to that zone : )

If I don't spend another minute in the game, I got my money's worth. I plan to go back though.

As for the PS3 controller, another thing that irritates me about the short stubby inward curved triggers is that there's no protection from "triggering" them if you set the controller down on your lap or somewhere temporarily. The say the controller is designed makes it easy to accidentally hit he trigger on something while the 360 triggers have a guard under then which helps a great deal when setting the controller down. The PS3 controller just seems like a poor design with last gen shape while adding poorly designed triggers to it (not to mention the rumble/six axis fiasco)

This is actually a reasonable gripe, assuming you do not pause the controller before putting it down (which can be inconvenient). The guards on the 360 are part of what contributes to the "I am holding a fucking brick in my hands" issue I have with the 360 controller (the battery pack being the bulk of the problem), however, so I am on the fence on that. Simply outward curing the lower triggers would probably solve the issue. And, yeah, the six axis thing was useful for exactly 3 games and complete wiimote shit for all the rest.

As for Demon Souls, your not that far behind me (Maneater and Yellow Monk) and nearly my soul level after I spent time grinding 4-2. You have a much different weapon setup than mine, however.

I'm L68 right now. I defeated the Adjucator and the Leechmonger recently.

I'm mostly magic build right now. Working on getting a Moonstone Uchigatana (Although I may just go for the Darkmoon version since I'm working 4-2 now). Tried fighting the Old Hero and got my ass handed to me when he rushes me. He can essentially 1-shot me at this point. I may need to grind some levels to increase my vitality and/or buy some heavier armor to add to my survivability. (Or make sure I use Warding before heading into the room).

Thats' the weapon I was trying to name, I went straight to Darkmoonstaone and have it at +4 (the last level before a chunk is required) along with an Intelligence of 38 now I believe does some serious damage with the weapons "A"rating for magic.

On a side note, my apologies for the grammatical nightmare that was my previous post. Holy shit. I write a lot of these posts while at work between doing things and am not fully focused to say the least : )

Jice may be an ass sometimes but he has the best paragraph structure on VV!
