Anyone watch the first episiode last night? I really liked it until the end and both Eric and I were like "uhh, they didn't have to go THAT far." It was a little silly.

It's an interesting approach to a series, but it's a character drama with an epic (mythical) storyline, so it will take a few episodes to determine whether its any good. My initial take is that it will be a popular series.

Ian McShane channels Al Swearengen in more than jut a few scenes, so I think Deadwood fans would enjoy it just for that (I know I did). The language his character uses even has that unusual lofty, poetic quality from time to time.

I mentioned this awhile back because Ian McShane was in it. I planned to download it this past weekend but got sidetracked. I'll check it out sometime in the next few days.

I liked it enough to get a season pass. The premise is pretty interesting, and the pacing was good. There was a scene near the end that was kind of like a hammer to the face, but overall it seems promising.

I enjoyed the 2 hour premier.

It's a little on the unbelievable side but I think it's supposed to be that way. Hopefully they'll explain later why the city can't be bombed with a war going on just a few miles outside of it.

It looks like they're tying to play up corporation involvement in war decisions.

I'll keep watching for now. I ended up never watching another episode after the first of Dollhouse.

David vs Goliath = Bible = Story of King David... the series won't make it far.

"Shiloh" is also a religious city. I agree the series won't have legs but I'll watch a few episodes to see how it goes.

Episode Three was OK. I could live with or without this show so far. It might be a little too goofy for me.

I watched the first episodes, I thought it was pretty good. Worth sticking around for a few more to see what happens, at least. I really like Ian McShane.

Eh. It's alright. Ian McShane is always a pleasure, but something about the feel of the show irks me. I'll keep watching. Right now I tend to compare shows with Heroes. I'm still watching Heroes despite being unimpressed with it, so if I can do that, I can give other shows a chance! That, and with BSG and Flight of the Conchords being gone now, I need more shows!

I'm on to episode 3. It's stupid but entertaining.

I was surprised FotC even made it to season 2. I thought season 1 was dumb and I hated just about every episode just for how lame it was. Funny moments at times but overall unfunny. Having said that, for some unknown reason, I watched the first 4 or so episodes of season 2 and was actually entertained.

As far as FoTC goes...I suppose it's an acquired taste...a particular kind of humor. It just so happens that it is the exact type of humor I grew up on. My parents love it, my siblings love it, even my great uncle loves and my nieces and nephews love it. How can you not enjoy Bret's hair helmet for people who don't like the look of bicycle helmets?

It's totally silly...

Fourth episode sucked! There should be more conflict with the other country, and far less within the kingdom's borders. This show is slipping into the cancel zone.

NBC is pulling freshman drama Kings from Sunday nights, yanking the struggling allegorical series after four episodes.

Kings will be replaced with another hour of Dateline, which will now run for two hours starting at 7 p.m.

Sunday's Kings episode was seen by 3.6 million viewers and received a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. Yet Dateline had a 1.5 rating in its half hour leading into Kings. NBC suspects an expanded Dateline will provide a better lead-in for 9 p.m.'s Celebrity Apprentice, which has seen some audience erosion in recent weeks that might be attributed to Kings.

The remaining eight episodes of Kings will air on Saturday nights at 8 p.m. starting April 18.

The loss is a real shame because, as nearly every TV critic pointed out, NBC took a chance here on an imaginative idea with a strong cast. Kings, which retold the story of King David in modern times, wasn't another police procedural, it wasn't a cynical programming move. Some may carp on NBC for airing Kings on Sundays at 8 p.m. -- it's a weak slot for the network -- but if the show was really working you would not have seen its ratings sharply decline from its debut.

That it was an imaginative idea doesn't detract from the show's sucky, predictable format. If this is what they come up with for the imagination slot on their network, then they should get back to the imagination boards, damnit. Next time, include interesting situations derived from realistic conflict opposed to uninteresting drama more on the level of a barber shop than a powerful kingdom, prz! A waste of good acting talent.

I'm still enjoying it while it lasts.

Also, Ian McShane was in Death Race.
