Baby's Room

Post by Tyek »

I know there are some insomniacs on this board like me. If you are lying awake late at night and nothing is on tv, do yourself a favor, check On-Demand and go to the Fear.net channel. (I know Time Warner has it at least.) Look for Baby's Room. I know it is a crappy title for a movie, but the movie was actually very good.

A couple move into a new home with their recently born child and purchase a monitor for the baby's room. They soon discover that there is someone else living in the house, who appears every night beside their baby's cradle.
A solid effort that takes a simple idea and manages to do a lot with it. The director builds the tension well and the actors do a good job with a minimal setting. It's well shot and there are a number of very creepy sequences involving the baby monitor. Though the ending doesn't quite deliver a satisfying pay-off, it's still fairly well done and pretty unsettling. While not a great film this is probably the best entry in the series.
I have to agree about the ending, but all in all it is a great little film. It is a subtitled film, so if that is not your thing skip it, otherwise, enjoy.

I try and check out the channel on a regular basis when nothing is on tv. I have found several decent horror flicks, they even had Escape from New York this month.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
