That's what happens when you get a wussbag liberal in the White House. Time to reverse all the great things Reagan accomplished. The world will slowly go back into its unstable pre U.S. World Police era. Why would anyone fear a United States helmed by a passifist/socialist that's not going to do anything.

This isn't anything new. A lot of Russians were enthusiastic about Glasnost, Perestroika and freedom but the reality hasn't been all they hoped for. They expected to turn into a Western European/US clone overnight. Instead they saw the Russian empire crumble with countries like Ukraine, the Baltic states, Georgia and others reclaiming independence that had been lost since before the communists siezed power. Instead of being a dominant player, they saw their influence decrease and thats hard on their national pride. Putin represented a shift back to the "old ways" to a lot of Russians who don't like to remember/admit that they were almost a 3rd world country except for their military under the Communists. He's been ratcheting up the rhetoric for a few years now, especially when it came voicing his displeasure at NATO admiting former Warsaw Pact states into NATO (i.e. like when Bush was in Ukraine and they were pushing to become a NATO state). Couple that with the fact that a year ago with $100+/bbl oil prices, Russia was making enough money courtesy of Black Sea and Siberian oil fields to be able to seriously entertain the notions of rearming.
I don't think it will revert to a full scale cold war with the Russians without something drastic polarzing things a lot more because too many of them remember the Communists and their depredations, while the younger generation of Russians has gotten used to a lot of Western influenced ideas and won't sacrifice them in the name of nationalistic pride. I do think the West is already in a "quieter" cold war already, with the Chinese, when you look at the things like the cyber attacks and technology espionage incidents, just no one wants to admit it, because they don't want the tensions as high as they used to get with the Soviets. We're trying to use trade to break the barriers, and influence them even if it means signing off on some pretty one sided agreements with the Chinese.

Maybe China and the Soviets can have a Cold War and leave us out of it this time so we can concentrate on improving our country. We'll get back to snuff during Cold War 3 or 4.

Well, that's what I meant! I should have been clearer. Don't limit it to Russia though. The surrounding countries previously behind the iron curtain provide lots of women for pr0n as well.
