Unfortunately, the ones that are extremist pricks in either direction have dissuaded the people you speak of from posting much. Look through the last 10 topics here, 95% of the posts made in them will be from the same 5 or so assholes.

Kilmoll is the only one that even tries to actively debate here anymore that isn't at very least left-leaning.

That's about it. That's where I'm at with the CE forum and is why I haven't really posted on topic in any of threads here, I know where most people that post here stand, and I don't agree with most of them. We've been through the whole name calling thing and rehashing the same arguments a billion times and it got to the point where it was wrecking my experience on vv, so why bother with it, right?

You should use the search function to familiarize yourself with the many times that people have attempted to engage in calm, civil discussion only to be called pricks, assholes and so forth by you, Mid, Kilmoll and others in the past. Saying that Kilmoll is trying to debate anyone when he largely just breaks down into a frenzy of name calling and mocking views he doesn't share is a joke. You guys can't handle the notion that people might disagree with you. Many of us "extremists pricks" are more than happy to engage in a civil discussion, but it's not possible when the opposing view is unwilling to reciprocate. There are plenty of examples of that if you care to open your eyes. Yeah, you guys get slammed rather often, but don't try to play the victim and forget the fact that it's your own behavior that has shaped the treatment you get now.

Because of the nature of where people stand on these forums (95% liberal), the conservatives have always got slammed here far more often than anyone else. While said people may also do things to antagonize, this wouldn't (and doesn't) change if/when those people do try to engage in civil discussion.

I bet if I went through my post history in this forum, every single time I did try to engage in civil discussion within two posts after mine I bet it turned into me getting slammed, no matter the topic. There is a difference between me being a prick and getting treated as such, and you guys not liking my viewpoints and being fuckheads about it instead of doing exactly what you say you do.

There have been very few people that have actually discussed something political with me in a civil fashion (sueven comes to mind), and you have never been one of them.

This is not a two sided matter of opinion, you are wrong, and if you did the research you speak of, you would see that (well, you still might not, which is the sad part.)
