PSP, why hast thou forsaken us?
What happened with this thing? It's an awesome piece of hardware, but all we've been getting for it are shitty ports of games that came out last year. I still play Lumines, Mercury, and Hot Shots Golf more than any of the shit I rent from Gamefly.
The last game I bought for it was the GTA port. To say it sucked is a massive understatement. WRU good games made for a handheld?

I actually liked the GTA port, but the controls are frustrating to be sure. The complete lack of RPGs has killed it for me. Same reason I never touch my wife's DS adn my GBA is still the unit I grab for long trips.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Lumines and mercury are still usually what gets popped in - today i placed a preorder and got a demo for Loco Roco when I bought Dead Rising.
Gradius something (the compilation of all of them) looks really good. They need more side scrollers for PSP - when a used copy or a price drop happens I'll probably pick that one up. It's still just a port of older games however.
I picked up a DS Lite due mostly to a lot of people having them, and all the games I buy, I try and make sure are all multiplayer/single card games. Brain Age by far gets the most play time around the office =P

if you were walking around and you came upon a tulip with tits, would you let it be for the rest of the world to enjoy.. or would you pick it and carry it off to a secluded area to motorboat them?

Buy Pursuit Force, it's fucking awesome. It plays well and it loads fast and it is PSP exclusive. It's pretty much the kind of game I bought a PSP for.
Sadly there aren't too many like it.
Grip Shift is another awesome game. You can get it for like twenty bucks now and it's fun as hell. Loads fast too.

Someone at work had the demo for Loco Roco. Looked like a cute little fun game that's coming out in the U.S. in September. Looks to be PSP only but who knows. Might have a PS3 version.

(Link is dead. Why they removed that video I have no idea. Was just someone playing through a level of Loco Roco. )

I'm glad you're all still playing Mercury
The sequel is out Real Soon Now* - did you all get the demo with the 2.8 library update?
* should clear SCEA submission in about 2 weeks, so on the shelves by the end of September not the dates previously touted *cough* ;p
PS: Yes we improved on the crappy load times of the first Mercury.

Loco Roco 2 out now btw. Go get! It has less levels then the original but there's more depth to the game overall in my opinion. Unless you're not a completist who needs to collect every item in the game. If you just play through a game until you win this one wont take you that long.
