Your Top 5 games of 2008

Post by Fairweather Pure »

5. GTA4 - This is a polished version of what we've all played before, but it's done so well it's like playing the game for the first time.
4. Fallout 3 - Although I'm not too far into this game, it has already left a great impression on me. I look forward to finishing it.
3. Left 4 Dead - Co-op gaming at it's finest. This game does almost everything perfectly. It does need more content though...
2. Dead Space - Easily the most overlooked game of the year. This game should've made an impact on gamers on par with Bioshock and Half-Life. It really is that good.
1. WotLK expansion - Pretty easy pick for me. Blizzard really outdid themselves with this expansion and I'll likely be playing it for the next 2 years :P

Honerable mentions go to Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour, and Gears of War 2. None of those made my list because, while great, none of them changed drastically from last year. I also feel a need to mention the expansion Command and Conquer: Kane's Wrath since it was a really, really good addition to the original game. Oh yeah, Lost Odyssey deserves some love too.

I'll be getting 2-3 games for Christmas, but I don't see my list really changing. (although I've heard great things about Fable 2)

I can't really give a proper listing as I haven't played much of anything but WoW due to time constraints and such. So I'd list WotLK as the best.

If I had to pick my least favorite, remembering that I only play a few games, Madden09 gets my nod for worst. not because of the game itself but because EA Sports decided to stop creating it for the PC. That alone will keep me from buying another EA Sports game.

1. CoD5 - Great gameplay, not even disappointed that they went back to WW2 era because it still plays great.

2. Left 4 Dead - As Fair said, Co-Op at its finest. I love online versus and playing as the zombies.. Nothing better than spawning in as a tank and dropping the whole team.. Does need more content in the worst way though.

3. Gears 2 - Campaign was great. Really enjoyed playing it.. Horde was ftw as well.

Cant really think of two more that I really enjoyed.. Biggest disappointment goes to MLB2k8 though. So much potential and came up with a big disappointment. Graphics were great but the game play came up short.. Hopefully they make some big improvements to this.

1) Fallout 3 and no other game was even close.

2) Fable II was a good game even though it is kind of a niche game. Was well put together and vastly superior to the first.

3) CoD 5 (campaign). The campaign was fun and the zombie mode is a true bonus. The online multiplayer PvP is horrible after playing CoD 4. They did have a couple of features in it that I hope to see in the Infinity Ward follow up coming next year to Modern Warfare.

After those 3, nothing really lept out and kept attention long enough to be considered a top game. Maybe GTA 4, but even that does not even come close to these 3.

5. Warhammer Online - Quality Game, better than WoW (WoW has lamest cartoony graphics of all time)
4. Fallout III (Unban Cart!)
3. Saints Row 2 (People in this game are as corrupt as politicians from Illinois. Hello Obama!)
2. GTA IV 360 (Sucked on the PS3, crashed a lot, PS3 blows!)
1. Wii Sucks! Can't believe anyone can stand crappy SD graphics and worst collection of games.

You are the only person I know who likes Saint's Row Winnow.

I didn't like 5 games this year so for me it's as follows:

Starwars: TFU
Left4dead (even though it was simultainously my biggest disapointment.)
Gears of War 2

I didn't play five games that came out in 2008.
