Journy to the Center of the Earth 3-D

Post by Fairweather Pure »

I wasn't going to buy this, but my wife was curious about how the 3-D was going to look. In the end, I caved and bought this and Polar Express 3-D as well. Both include a set of 4 3-D glasses.

As a movie, this was pure fluff. It wasn't even that good of fluff. However, the 3-D was all kinds of awesome. I mean it. It was the best 3-D I have ever seen outside of Imax. There were times when my wife and I just laughed because the 3-D was so good. So, for those of you wondering if the 3-D for these things is any good, the answer is hell yes. The downside is that the glasses are actually red and green. These are not the newer "sunglasses" looking 3-D glasses. Sometimes, your eyes adjust and you can actually see colors, but usually it's the odd mix of red/green.

So, the movie alone gets a 6/10. The 3-D gets a 9/10. Combined that is 7.5/10. This is a great thing to do for a gimmick night. I would imagine those with kids of the right age would have a blast watching this. Don't think of this as a movie per say, think of it as an event.

I actually enjoyed the movie myself but it ended rather abruptly. I saw it in the theatre when it came out. You are right about the 3-D. It was done great and it wasn't overdone. per say.

I do not have a theater experiance to compare to the DVD with Journy, but I will have one with Polar Express since I saw that at Imax years ago. Persay.

Both this movie and Polar Express come with the standard versions as well. They are double sided dvds. If you try and watch hte 3-D versions without the glasses, they are all fucked up looking. Per sei.

I think you misspelled it again.
For the oppressed, peace is the absence of oppression, but for the oppressor, peace is the absence of resistance.
