Gamer Food

Post by Winnow »

This article reminded me of a "Gamer Potion" I saw being sold at Fry's Electrionics.

Gamer Grub comes in three (atrocious) flavors:

Action Pizza: Which is a jar of Pizza Cashews & Pitas, Tomato Sesame Sticks, Tomato Almonds, Cheese Pitas and Mozzarella Peanuts.

Racing Wasabi: Which is Wasabi Soy Almonds and Peanuts, Wasabi Peas, Honey Mustard Sesame Sticks and Pita Chips.

Strategy Chocolate: Which is Almonds, Chocolate Raisins, Cherries, White Chocolate Chips.

and

Sports PB&J: Peanuts, Peanut Butter Chips, Strawberry Jelly Chips, Bread Cubes.

I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to gamer food. Since my wife also plays games, she will plan in advance and make food just for "gaming days". These would be any day that I have friends coming over to game, or any time both she and I can play together. It's like a Super Bowl party every couple of weeks. My friends love coming over, and it really makes me proud of my wife because none of thier wives do anything like it. She even themes it out based on what games we will be playing. Her Rock Band food was over the top. It's the little things, like a bowl full of M&M's with all the brown ones removed except 1. It's having Rockstar to drink and everything laid out like a backstage party.

With WotLK coming up, she has planned 3 days of food for the 2 of us and one of my firends who is coming over to play for a 3-4 day marathon session. I haven't had anything like this since the BC release, which was very memorable!

Anyway, lots of fresh fruit, various cheeses, meats, and sauces will adorn our desks. Sub sandwhiches, chips, salsa, and hot entrees will stream from the kitchen for days. The mini fridge will be packed with ice cold Mnt Dew, and we'll also que up a great number of DVDs that will be playing in the background for 3 days. My wife will theme the food based on WoW, so that is always fun to see what she comes up with.

I love my video game food days.

Btw, I showed my wife the Gamer Potions and she says we have to get some of those.

Gamer potion is kind of a funny idea but the price per bottle is nuts even for a joke to give someone.
Speaking of B12, this thing is loaded with it. To be specific, 400mg of the stuff, which is 6667% of your daily recommended dosage. Yeah, you read that right. Over six and a half thousand percent. With that much of the stuff in the drink, it made me wonder what exactly B12 is– I’m no chemist. I did a little digging, and it looks like it’s mostly harmless, fortunately. Your body can’t even really absorb much of it in a day, so I’m guessing they added it for the color and most of it will pass harmlessly through your system.
They probably loaded it with B12 so when you pee super bright yellow, you think the potion's doing something other than draining your wallet.

For some reason I had a vision of Hot Pockets. Must have been references to Hot Pockets in either "The Core", or the "Make Love nor Warcraft" episode of South Park.

Seriously though, isn't pizza and beer the usual staple?

Sk.
