RIP Norman Whitfield

Post by Drolgin Steingrinder »

Who the fuck is he, I hear you cry? Well, you might not know the man but you'll damn well know his work.

Whitfield died tuesday aged 67. He wrote songs such as "Ain't too proud to beg", "I heard it through the grapevine", "Papa was a rolling stone", "War" and tons of others for artists like Marvin Gaye, The Tempations and Gladys Knight. He was one of the fathers of Motown having been trained by Smokey Robinson and he was definitely a key creator of psychedelic soul.

I thoroughly enjoy some good Motown music. I wish Motown would make a comeback.
Make love, fuck war, peace will save us.
