You realized that as soon as I saw the thread title, not realizing it was related, the song got stuck in my head.

I haven't even clicked the link yet and I'm doing a little dance in my seat!

fucking AWESOME.

edit:

Clicked the link. They better not make it suck.

I have the first season in DVD, and have had the other 2 in my hands on several occasions ($50 bucks each is a lot for a kid's show IMO). Because Fraggle Rock is almost entirely an imaginary world, it holds up very well as a children's series. Of course, Uncle Traveling Matt's segments are so dated it's hilarious. There's one with him talking about smoke breathers (or something like that), and he's in a bar where all the people are smoking. There are big close-ups of people smoking. Man, that kind of stuff would never make it on a kid's show today! I could even hum/half sing most of the songs, and I hadn't seen the show in over 20 years.

As an aside, the extras on the boxed sets are fantastic. There's lots of fun and interesting stuff to look through, such as all the international versions of the "Doc" character. You see, this show was amazingly popular all over the world. They left all the Fraggle stuff alone for the most part, but changed the Doc character to be more local for each region. Anyway, if you have kids, I highly suggest revisiting Fraggle Rock on DVD.

My 4 yr old niece somehow discovered Fraggles, and she has several of the stuffed animals as well as most of the shows. My sister even found a bunch of Dozers on ebay that she filled her stocking with for Christmas :)

FYI, all 3 seasons of Fraggle Rock are $19.99 each at Sam's Club. I paid 50$ for the first season, but picked up 2 and 3 for 40$. It's a great deal. Season 2 is 596 minutes and Season 3 is 720 minutes. That's almost 22 hours of Fraggle Fucking Rock for 40 bucks. That time doesn't even include the extras, of which there are plenty!
