Britney Spear's singing - her mic - and only her mic.
Oh dear god. I didn't think technology could make someone that bad even sound passable. Don't get me wrong, Britney is a terrible "musician" but this is ......this is just soul destroying.
Fake? I don't know. For the sake of my ears I hope so.

I don't trust any "singer" that only sings (well) when conditions are perfect.
If you can't sing, you can't sing. Quit faking it!
Whitney Houston could wake up with a crack pipe in her mouth and still belt it!

Put on some headphones and turn them up really fucking loud... so loud that you can hear any outside noise. Better yet, get some of those noise canceling headphones and crank em right up. Now jog on the spot for about 15 minutes then record yourself singing along with the music that is blaring in your headphones.
When you play it back, I guarantee that you won't even recognize the tune.
I'm not saying that Brittney Spears is a good singer... hell, her producers are some of the biggest Autotune abusers in the past decade. I'm just saying that even the best singers will be hard pressed to carry a tune if they can't hear themselves sing.

Re: Britney Spears "singing"
Yeah, I agree with Miir on both counts.
1. Brittney's voice has always been extremely processed from the very first record. When you hear a shitton of studio effects on someone's voice, it's not to make it sound cool (although that was an unintentional side effect in pop music) it's to cover up doctoring.
2. Almost any singer, no matter how good, will struggle if they cannot hear themselves. That's why you see so many singers wearing in ear monitors in live performances now.
