Bush isn't so bad

Post by Sylvus »

Politico wrote:For the first time, Bush revealed a personal way in which he has tried to acknowledge the sacrifice of soldiers and their families.

“I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf,” he said. “I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.”

Bush said he made that decision after the August 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, which killed Sergio Vieira de Mello, the top U.N. official in Iraq and the organization’s high commissioner for human rights.

“I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life,” he said. “I was playing golf — I think I was in central Texas — and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, ‘It's just not worth it anymore to do.’"
I'm sure a lot of you who criticize Bush have been out on the links since 2003. Hypocrites.

Such a touching story by Bush. Too bad it isn't true.

But Global Warming is real!
The president said global warming has “been more clearly defined as a problem” during his eight years in office, and when asked if it is real, Bush said: “Yes, it is real; sure is.”

Just pointing it out since often it gets tossed around here that it's some sort of liberal conspiracy.

I don't think the word conspiracy has ever been used or even implied.

Because, he was smart enough to go along with it, doesn't take away the fact it is 99% driven by liberal organizations. Come on man. You have to be able to admit that.

Hmm, there appears to be some conflict in the anti-global warming camp.

Ah, I was looking at it like people who think everything he says is wrong, or a lie. (in this case, i'd agree!)

I also don't recall singling out liberals on global warming. Both parties are equally guilty in this process which will only further erode our freedoms and sovereignty.

Perhaps I'm remembering incorrectly, I thought it had been implied in one of those threads. But I wasn't a very active participant in most of them, so I could very well be wrong.

Nope, they don't care about me. They want power and money. We are all just collateral damage (or are kids are). This is also the foundation for Clintonology 101.

I firmly believe environmentalism and mostly the religion of global warming was brought about by and pushed vehemently by liberal organizations. So, no, you didn't mis-remember.
