Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story

Post by Fairweather Pure »

This is a parody of films like "Ray" and "Walk the Line". It was a flop at the box office, but I had never heard a single review or opinion via word of mouth. This is the very definition of a "blind buy" for a dvd purchase. What can I say? I like John C Riley.

Within the first 10 minutes, I thought this was pretty fucking lame. However, by the end, I had tears streaming down my cheeks from laughter. Somewhere along the way, it made a transition. I can't really put my finger on where, but it happened. The cameos were numerous and pretty crazy. That was half the fun of the movie IMO. By the end, I would say it was as funny as anything I'd seen all year. I'd give it an 8/10. Defintely worth a rental by most standards. I'm glad I own the unrated dvd. I think I know all the parts that were cut for theaters, that's for damn sure!

Here is a 60 second clip for a taste of what you're in For. This particular scene is a paraody of "Ray", but is funny in it's own right.

I saw the trailer a while back, definitely one to see, not one to go in the theaters for though.

I watched this last week and thought the guy playing Elvis was Jack White. Am I right?

As far as the movie goes, I watched it with a couple of buddies and 2 of us thought it was pretty funny and the third guy was mad at me for making him watch it.

I can't quite pin down why, but I didn't find this very enjoyable when I watched it yesterday. It just felt like it was missing something...like teh funny.
