Moment of Truth

Post by Funkmasterr »

Ok, this show kicked off the other day (I proceeding American Idol) and I thought it was hilarious. I am sure that some or a lot of it is scripted (or maybe not) but seriously watching the guys answer shitty questions and watching their wives get pissed was way too funny.

The premise of the show is that the contestants take a lie detector test where they are asked 50 questions, then on the show they pick like 20 of those questions randomly, and if the contestant answers all of them truthfully they win 500k.

The first guy was a ex-NFL player (can't remember his name), and he ended up losing when they asked him something like (he is a personal trainer) "have you ever touched a female client in a way that was unnecessary" and he answered no, which they said was false. LOL, his wife was furious, and as he walked off stage he tried to kiss her and she just turned away.

I am going to have fun watching other people suffer on this show!

I'm waiting for the reality show where fans of reality tv are shot, thereby forcing the networks to stop producing reality tv shows!

I don't think television has anything worth watching, to be honest.

Overall I agree with you, but I have to find a show once in a while to at least get a chuckle out of - and watching people ruin their jobs/marriages on TV over some money (even if it is fake, let me have my fun :) ) is fucking hilarious to me.

I'll never pay for HBO to see any of the shows there, I have tried watching most sitcoms or comedy shows and I think 99% of them are not funny, and the other 1% barely make me chuckle, drama's on tv suck.. Really - all of the NON reality TV I see people here conversing about sucks just as much or more than reality shows in my opinion.

Honestly, have you seen The Wire? I know you're into the whole hip hop thing, and it really shocks me to see you say that it sucks. I'll give you that all TV is subjective, but from what I've gathered about you posting here, that show is right up your alley. And it happens to be one of the best works of fiction ever created.

It's sad, but if you really want great quality television, you have to get HBO or Shotime. CBS will bastardize Dexter when they premier it. The only basic cable network that has great shows is FX.

It's on HBO. Go to Blockbuster and rent Season 1. Or order it from Amazon. If you watch all of Season 1 and it isn't immediately one of your top five favorite shows, I'll donate the cost of the dvds to the charity of my choice in your name. Probably the VV fund.

It's currently on it's fifth and final season. So you have the added bonus of the whole series being nicely wrapped up by the time you get through the four seasons that are currently available on DVD.

Haha, you both seem pretty confident I'll like it, so I'll give it a shot. I'll let you know what I think !

Back to the topic though, I am mildly amused by this show but not enough that I'd want to watch it unless my wife has it on. This show should be named something like "The Truth Hurts" or "How can we fuck up ALL your relationships"? I think I'd almost be alright with the show if they didn't force feed you the suspense on EVERY FUCKING QUESTION. "Do you think you are better looking than your sister"? pause pause pause more pause, "Yes", gasps pause pause pause "True". Ghey!
