Why do we do it? Why must does this place suffer us.
I'm sorry for my start, the middle and the end. I've never been good at talking or writing, my mind works faster than my hands I guess.
I have been thinking, quite recently about everything. About how we are headed, as a species, and I think...I am most hopefully wrong. We are not as good as we think we are.
Why do madmen hold power, crushing those who just want to live and love and, basically endure what the world throws us?
I'm not on an anti-american, or anti-iraq rant here. I mean in general.
Where did it all go wrong? When did the good guy, not come last, but not even have a chance to finish?
I've lived my life, not perfect by anymeans, quitely. I've always looked for good in people, and mainly I would like to be everybodies friend. This may sound sissy or stupid, but where's the harm? Whats wrong with just wanting to be nice to people? Why do people, as a whole, act like dickheads to everyone else?

When did we become worse than animals? They kill and eat each other, they kill families of their own species, but, I'm certain they would never try to justify it!

All I want in life is to love, to be with my girlfriend, my family and friends, and just BE. Why is that so hard, why must we have nuclear war and suicide attacks and god knows what else is coming.

I look at the stars, or the sea, or the forests and i love this world. And then I look at us. What do we hope to achieve? For 75 or so years we live on this planet, in that short, short time why cant we just love each other and bask in the beauty of the world around us?

Think to yourself....What is the first priority of any leader?
It's not to help his people.
It's not world domination.
It's to stay in power.
Leaders will do anything and everything to keep their position - that alone is more then enough to breed corruption.

I suppose these questions are too deep for the shallow minded flamers who want nothing to do with a topic of this nature.

It went wrong when the love of money and oneself took the place of caring for family, friends and your neighbour.

Good guys don't finish last they just arent always recognized for their accomplishments because they are generally done in a private way, not for accolades.

Will it ever change? Not to be fatalistic but human nature being what it is I would say no.

A serious response to what seemed like a serious question.

Compare the suffering in this world to it's continual advancement. I don't mean shit like bigger televisions, I mean both the ratio and sheer number of people who go about their daily lives with adequate food, medical care and enough hope to get them out of bed in the morning.

Don't let sensationalism and the tendency of the species to dwell on the negative fool you. The world is in better shape now than it has ever been.

I totally agree with the above statement. Well said Atokal.

This message board is pure entertainment, occasional information, and not a place to be taken seriously. Since its inception, it's often been likened to a bar where the regulars tease each other mercilessly, drink and play games together, and just hang out.

I don't think your comment was directed at me, but if this were a serious board, like say a guild message board, I'd treat it as such.
