Pathetic.SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Missouri State University took down a 20-foot Christmas tree after a diversity official reported a
complaint that it was insensitive to other religions. As a result, Missouri State officials are meeting tomorrow to
discuss appropriate holiday decorations. The 20-foot artificial tree was taken down Monday. The co-chair of the president's diversity commission said a Jewish faculty member complained the tree showed "a lack of sensitivity" to those of other religions. But another university official said courts have ruled that Christmas trees are secular symbols if they do not bear religious decorations. The faculty member who put the tree up said she didn't use any religious symbols on it.

Wow, when you said "MSU", Missouri State University would have been like my 4th or 5th guess!

The tree is going back up!
The tree is going back up!
A Christmas tree that had been removed from the atrium of Strong Hall at Missouri State University will return, along with other religious holiday symbols in that building, school president Michael T. Nietzel said in a news release Thursday morning.
A meeting that had been scheduled Friday to discuss appropriate MSU holiday decorations has been canceled, he said.

I hope the person who complained is treated like dogshit by their peers for awhile. If you feel like your religion is being ignored (boohoo!) throw a fucking Menorah up on the file cabinet or hang a few Stars of David around the office instead of being a crybaby. Seriously though, what is so insensitive about a decorated tree? Especially when it's origins are pagan anyway!
