the simpsons movie was...
I was talking to a friend about how the Southpark movie is better because it is actually bigger, it's better, and it's uncut. Why didn't the Simpsons movie do the same? Or do you think it did do the same? What went wrong / right? Critics liked it but I really didn't laugh as much as I would in a normal half hour episode.

I liked it, my daughter liked it, we both laughed, money well spent on an evening out with your kid.

will respond once it comes out on dvd. I'm not enough of a Simpson's fan to "waste" an afternoon watching it.

I agree. I have 10 seasons on DVD. There are usually back to back episodes on Sunday, not to mention daily syndication. I have all the Simpsons I want right here at home. I couldn't justify paying to see 90 minutes more in the theater. I will defintely purchase the DVD though.Boogahz wrote:will respond once it comes out on dvd. I noticed that it wasn't a lot like the show, but I also liked the movie and laughed through the better part of it.
I will also buy it on dvd when it comes out, but any of you that want it before then, there is a really good quality torrent out there (on demonoid.com) that is honestly damn near dvd quality itself, I will link it if people want.
Also, that makes me think - if anyone wants to use demonoid.com and needs an invitation code let me know, it's the best torrent site I have been able to find as of yet.

It's gotten very good reviews. Of my friends that have seen it, they had nothing but good to say. Several were surprised it was as enjoyable as it was.

I enjoyed it. I don't think it was worth the movie to pay to see a cartoon in the theaters though, but my son wanted to go.
Re: the simpsons movie was...
Homer said it best in the opening scene, while watching "The Itchy and Scratchy Movie".
It was a very funny movie, on par with a lot of their better shows, but I think it suffered from trying to put too many cameos in it. They should have had way more Burns, Milhouse, and Moe (who stole every scene he was in, as usual). You mean, we're paying for something that we can just watch for free?!

I saw an AVI of this a while ago. I laughed. I'm not a die hard fan though so the quality meant less to me than it would to others. All that matters is that it kept me entertained.

It ruled for everyone except the people who think its cool not to like funny, well made comedy.
