The 24th Day

Post by Lalanae »

Another recommendation I recently watched via Netflix Instant viewing.

If you've seen the movie Hard Candy (amazing flick), this one is very similar in nature. A gay guy (James Marsden) goes home with a guy he meets in a bar. He thinks the guy is a stranger, but before anything happens between them, the "stranger" reveals that they had been intimate 5 years ago. The "stranger" now has HIV and thinks the gay guy gave it to him, so he holds him hostage until he can get results from an HIV test. During the time he's held hostage, back stories are revealed that shed new light on the situation.

Loved the story and dialogue and the acting was great. Not as impacting as Hard Candy, but a highly-enjoyable roller coaster ride.

I bought Hard Candy yesterday at Best Buy for $4.00 and I have to say that was the best $4.00 spent in a long time. All I can say is, "WoW"!

Hard Candy is on my definite "to get" list, as soon as it fall enough in price here in Denmark. Plan to get some family to see it, cant do that if no danish subs, but at the moment it cost like double of what i wanna pay for a DVD, when i know it will fall in price in a few months :).
Last 3 times i bought full price movies, they were down from 179 kr to 100 kr before i got around to seeing them, so dont buy full pricers any more.

I'm watching X-Men: The Last Stand (which is better than I remember it), and noticed that Kitty Pryde is played by the same actress that stars in Hard Candy.

Trivia!
