Little Miss Sunshine

Post by Sylvus »

I'd read good things about Little Miss Sunshine (can view trailer from there), went and saw it today and I was very impressed. Great movie, a lot of humorous lines and situations, and it did a phenomenal job of being touching/sad one second and laugh-out-loud funny the next.

Steve Carell played probably his most serious role yet (though still quite funny) and performed well. Alan Arkin's character was hilarious, and the two kids were cast really well also. The little girl, Olive, was really cute.

I definitely recommend this movie, I think it got really high scores on rottentomatoes.com and did well at the Sundance festival.

I just watched this last night and was shocked at how funny it was. This movie is flat out hilarious. Alan Arkin was pretty much priceless anytime he was on screen, and Steve Carell's part was great.

Really a good movie.

There should be no shock involved in anything Steve Carrel touches being funny. It is assumed.

I have yet to see this :(

I thought it was ok. Wasn't terrible but not a hilarious laugh riot either. I think they overdid the 'bad things' that happened to the family. It was one thing after another so eventually I stopped caring.

7/10

It was okay. It wasn't hilarious by any means. I took up until the final 10 mins of the movie until I "outloud laughed".

In contrast, I was laughing out loud within the first 10 minutes of The Postamn.

For anyone else's future reference, I don't think this movie is supposed to be hilarious. It's just a good movie, with some funny scenes and some touching scenes. Definitely worth its Best Picture nomination.

I guess it should be worth mentioning that I was drunk when I saw it the first time, and anytime that the grandpa spoke, was completely hilarious. The entire trip to California, up until that one hotel part, then subsequent events, was pretty funny to me.

I only used the word 'hilarious' because Zamtuk did!

Spooky...
The Postman was on TV this weekend and I managed to sit through almost 15 minutes of it before I felt like throwing up.

I watched Little Miss Sunshine last night and almost threw up from laughing so hard at the end.
I loved this movie.
