Now i have never been a Rocky fan, but i daresay that Stallone spoiled it by making it
But hell, maybe Rambo 4 will be good and show that a retirement home case can still be a macho action hero.....NOT

This was indeed a great movie. When those aliens came through the floor of the ring at the end and abducted Rocky to bring him to their intergalactic gladatorial arena, I nearly shat my pants in excitement. The sequal, Rocky vs Predator is going to be fucking amazing.
Really awesomely done. Hats off to Stallone for how he did this. The script paid a lot of "respect" to the previous movies and story lines without doing it in an egotistical 'look how awesome I was' or unrealistic way. They used this movie to say goodbye to the series better than any other I think I've seen.
But if you didn't like any of the previous ones, you're still not going to like this one.
Ed: I didn't think emo boy from Heroes was going to fit at first, but by the end of the movie, I think he was damn well cast.

I actually finally saw AVP last night for the first time, and it was much better than I thought it was going to be. I was pleasantly surprised.
I got a chance to see this last night. Its interesting to see the alternative endings on the DVD. Personally, the one they ended up choosing was much much better than the alt one.The only thing that bugged me was the Mason Dixon name. Do all of the opponents have to have hacky names? i thought his part was very good (the whole entourage thing was a bit over the top but) and they portrayed his own personal toughness as well.
it seemed like a ridiculous idea initially, but it really did work as a movie. Go figure
