Hey guys. Recently, my LCD 19inch vx922 from Viewsonic has been acting up. The screen is several shades too bright; I can barely see anything for the brightness of the monitor. A black screen appears as a light gray, and everything else is glaringly painful to view. I have contrast and brightness turned all the way down, and still nothing. Any ideas on what could be causing problems?
My LCD bulb had burned out about two months ago; I sent it in for repairs, and they sent the monitor back to me after a month. My image is back, but now the screen flickers between a regular brightness to extreme white.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no desire to send it back into the shop, as the first shipping job cost 40 dollars, and I don't want to ship it back to them, only so they can break something else. I don't care about voiding the warranty, so if it's something I can fix, let me know.
Flickering/Too Bright Monitor
Dude, you should have bought a Dell!
What you're describing doesn't sound like something typical that goes wrong with LCDs. I never get any kind of flickering.
Have you hit the reset button on the monitor? Should be something like that in the menus.
After that, check your display settings in Windows to make sure nothing was changed with gamma, etc.
Anything's possible. Could try and look for updated video drivers etc, but if your monitor is acting that way even before windows is booted then it's your monitor, not the card or settings.
