For the Jay and Silent Bob fans in the house...

Post by noel »

I'm a huge fan of Kevin Smith offscreen. He seems like a genuinely down to earth and cool guy. If you haven't had the chance yet, check out 'An Evening With Kevin Smith' on DVD or I think it's currently running on Starz.

I was recently linked to Kevin Smith's blog. There were two articles of note that I was linked to, but for sure now I'll be reading it more often. The first article is fun/funny about Kevin's opinion on Strippers:

The second is about 9 posts long and a lot more serious. It's all about how Jason Mewes fell into the world of drugs, and the harrowing path to getting him out. If you have the patience for that much reading, I think you'll enjoy it a lot:
part 1: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=235
part 2: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=236
part 3: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=237
part 4: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=239
part 5: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=240
part 6: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=241
part 7: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=242
part 8: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=243
part 9: http://silentbobspeaks.com/?p=244
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

I've read part 1 of the Mewes story and the stripper thing. Both real good reads.

I own "An Evening with Kevin Smith" that was great. My wife had bought the Slient Bob speaks book but I haven't gotten around to reading that yet. Maybe I should.

So I'm the only one besides noel that read his comments about strippers and strip clubs?

If you ever get a chance to go to a live Q&A, you must go! I saw him when he came to the Chicago area last year, and it was about 6 hours of non-stop hilarity.

No, I read that too, it just wasn't really news to me. While I'm sure he expressed it more eloquently than I could (and it was a humorous read), he hasn't really seen anything there that I haven't noticed.

The Mewes story was fantastic. I never realised how much shit that boy had gone through.

Maybe I'm biased toward that one because I didn't read any of the others!

I have to agree here...I kept telling myself to wait and read the next "chapter" later, but I had to know what else he went through. The last line of each made me want to belch in Kevin Smith's face after having Dr Pepper and Fritos. He MADE me keep reading!

I must say that I was shocked at how much the two of them had been through together. Considering how their "relationship" began, I wouldn't have expected them to have gone through nearly that much.
