This was pretty funny. It shows why I like High school football so much and why I love coaching it. You really aren't out of it at any time. I coach junior high football and we onside kick every time. There are many reasons for this. First, it is rare that a 7th grader can kick it more than 30 yards and if he does it probably won't have any air time. Second, the other team usually has their best player returning the ball. No way in hell am I going to let him get a hold of it if I can avoid it. Last year I think we recovered 3 onside kicks and limited return yardage to almost nothing.
