I was having issues with my 360 freezing up a lot, and the processor fan seemed to be having issues, it would make grinding noises and stuff.
Anyways, I went and got a new one and when I was hooking it up I noticed some differences. The power cord that plugs into the bigger power box was a 3 prong connection on my old xbox and its only 2 on this one.
I was just curious if anyone was familiar with the differences and whether I ended up with a newer version or an older one I am more likely to have problems with again.
Thanks for any info.

Early 360's (ones with 2005 manufacturing date) weren't the best.
Microsoft constantly makes little changes to the 360..different DVD drives (there's a bazillion different DVD drives in the 360 now. three brands and various models of those), changes to the motherboard, etc.
Your new one was most likely made better than the old one.
