Swiss in Teh NBA !

Post by Xorian »

Hey guys !

For the first time in the history of Swizerland, a swiss is playing in NBA. As you perhaps already know, his name is Thabo Sefolosha. He is playing with Chicago Bulls.

Would be nice if some of you, NBA guru, could tell me how he is doing and what you think about him. ( I read his stats on the first 2 games of season, but i can not really say if that is average, good etc....) Newspappers here are saying he is doing quiete well...but i wanted some insight "made in" NBA fans !

Thanks in advance

He's been impressive so far. He's shooting really well, which can be tough to do when you're not getting much playing time, and that'll help him to get more time. Apparently he's playing good defense too, at least if his steal numbers are any indication. Any time I've heard his name, it's been in the context of 'oh, that guy can really shoot well' or 'he'll be useful this year' or something like that. He's not going to be a star at this point or anything, but he looks like he's got talent, he should be able to get minutes all year, and he has a chance to make a real nice career for himself.

I actually saw his stats after yesterdays game and was going to come here and post a Swiss update, but you beat me to it!

Plus his name is Thabo Sefolosha, that rules.

By the way, if you're just looking to evaluate someone based on a box score, I generally look to see how well they shot (above 50% is good), and whether they made contributions in the assists/rebounds/steals/blocks categories that offset whatever mistakes they made that show up in the turnovers/personal fouls categories. Certainly doesn't tell you as much as watching an actual game, but it can give you some idea of how someone played.

Thanks for the insight !

NBA matches are pretty hard to see on TV here, i think only 1 channel offer some of them, and it is a paying one.

I'll check match report and score boxes to be up to date and see how he is doing!

Thanks for your help !
