Another thread got me wondering.. what are some of everyone's favorite applications they use on a daily, or near daily basis? I've found a few new apps through word of mouth and even on here so I'm curious if there's anything new and improved that's out..

Tag&Rename probably tops my list. I use it a lot.


Agent newsreader I use everyday too.

Offhand for most used apps:


Desktop Search: Copernic

Binary Newsreader: Newsleecher

-winrar (for rar/zip files)
-quickpar (to handle Par 1 & 2 files)

File Management: Directory Opus (awesome/customizable, also replaced FTP) Takes some time to customize but the payoff in efficiency is huge.

Image Viewing/Editing:

-Fastone Image Viewer (free)

for fast browsing of images, resizing, batch conversion/renaming, minor editing

-Adobe Elements/Photoshop

for more advanced editing

Music listening/management: Media Monkey (free)

Direct Connect: D++

Screen Capture non game: Fastone Capture (excellent and free)

Screen Capture games: Fraps

Fast, Free, small, traybar Dictionary/thesaurus: Wordweb

Image Burning/Virtual Mounting: Alcohol 120%

Partition/Hard Drive backup: Acronis True Image
