MS said no price cut however...
...they never said no bundling.

Rumor has it Aug 1st will see the 360 bundled with PGR3, 1250 MS points and 3 months of XBL for 399$.(the assumption is that it'll be the X360 Premium.)
A nice deal if it is indeed the premium.
*edit* made sure the Rumor word was very obvious.

The thread that this all originated from had a few mentions of this as well. I think this bundle was made by Costco themselves. A good deal too imo since 3 months of Live and 1250 points comes to about the same price as a wireless controller.Sionistic wrote:I was in costco yesterday and saw a bundle that had the premium, pgr3, extra controler, but im not sure of anything else. Are bundles in Costco/Sams made by them? Or by the game companies?
what? I don't think a game has been bundled with a console since super mario bros/duck hunt.
I'm sure 360 sales have slown down quite a bit since a decent game hasn't been released on it since march. Or since launch if you dont' count PS2 ports with HD textures.
August is looking good tho, with n3 and dead rising.

I got Top Spin and NCAA football with my XBox.
Yeah, I guess there hasn't been anything since Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt (even though that was a cool bundle

Costco almost exclusively sells consoles bundled with one or more games and two controllers. The bundle getting better doesn't surprise me at all since it is a natural progression as systems get older/ have more competition.

This got me thinking. Were those bundles you mentionned manufacturer bundles or retailer ones?
I know Nintendo sold Mario/Duck Hunt with hte NES, Super Mario World with the SNES, No idea with the N64 or Gamecube.
Sega Bundled Altered Beast with the Genesis but no idea with the Saturn of Dreamcast
MS created a few bundles with different themes for the original XBox.
Were any of the Sony bundles ever offered by Sony? Something with a flagship title like Crash Bandicoot or Gran Tourismo?

I've been trying to get my friend to order an Xbox for a while, and he just sent me a copy of his receipt to say that he bought one.
I don't know if he had to do anything special, but it looks like he ordered it from overstock.com and paid $312.91 (including shipping) for the platinum.
