At least he is playing and not being lazy during his suspension.
Ricky Williams: One Year Deal in Toronto

Update: Williams (suspension) has reached an agreement on a one-year deal with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, the Miami Herald reports.
Recommendation: Williams will receive a one-year deal worth $240,000 and is expected to begin practicing with Toronto Sunday. The deal was hammered out after the CFL voided the option year that is included in most CFL contracts. The league ruled that because Williams had a pre-existing contract with the Dolphins he was not subject to being claimed by another team to play there again in 2007. Agent Leigh Steinberg said he and Williams gave the Dolphins a "promise" that he would return to the NFL as soon as he could. The risk here is that Williams suffers a major injury up north, but if he can stay healthy, he is obviously better served by playing pro football this season while he rides out his NFL-imposed suspension.

His salary will be significantly higher than 240k. It's suspected he will make close to 585k he would have made with the Dolphins this year had he not been suspended.
The Argos will make more than that back on the boost in ticket sales from having him on the field. The rest of the teams also stand to gain from having a legitimate NFL star playing in their stadium when the argos come to town.
Will be interesting to see the effect (argos coach) Mike 'Pinball' Clemons has on Williams.

With the CFL being predominately a passing game, I could understand his numbers being low, but his performance on the weekend was nothing short of embarrasing.noel wrote:14 yards on 8 carries RULES!
But in his defense, the Argos lost thier starting quarterback in the first game and the offense had to adjust to a new pivot.
