a failed cell phone game company and an abortion of a sequel to Gauntlet, that the lead designer quit on partway through development claiming that Romero was wrecking it. oh, and marrying an underage romanian skeezer.
the only torrent of diarrhea is his history since leaving id. which was apparently his track record while at id, considering the fact that they fucking fired him.

John Romero is an upjumped level designer. That's all Doom and Quake really were: great game engine programmed by the guy still working for id, and fucking fun levels.
I'll even go so far to say that the shit that made Quake rule wasn't made by either of those jokers. CTF and TF redefined the FPS genre that id created, especially in terms of multiplayer capabilities.

Maybe they can hire him to finish Duke Nuke'em Forever, maybe make a MMO over that
Or even better, make a MMO out of the process of making it. Imagine thousands of people working together 12 hours a day in front of their PCs, instead of raiding, you make levels, instead of grinding, you code.
The game can run for as long as they like, looking at how far it has taken to finish it so far

Nah, the Korean War eventually did end, looking at what results the Duke Nuke'em team have come up with so far, theyre no closer to finishing the game than they were at day 1 (ok, thats not true, i do remember some screenshots from back in 2001masteen wrote:Kinda like how MASH ran like 10 years longer than the Korean War lasted?Hesten wrote:The game can run for as long as they like, looking at how far it has taken to finish it so far
