Buying a cell phone

Post by Lynks »

Currently, I'm looking at the Sony Ericsson w810i. Anyone know if it drops calls a lot (or at all)? Any other recommendations? Should I stay away from certain brands?

The main criteria for this phone would be how well its able to handle calls and its range. Taking pictures and listening to music is something that I want, but won't lose any sleep if I don't have it. The speakerphone and task manager features on the Ericsson have me intrigued in the phone too.

Also, I'm not interested in text messaging, surfing the web, or playing games on any cell phone, but it might come in handy later down the road.

In general, a phone is going to be much less of a factor with dropped calls than your provider. Find out what provider is stronger in your area, don't listen to jackasses here telling you that the provider in their little town has the best network evar, because it's different from one area to the next.

i didn't like the razr. i dropped it a lot until it broke after about 9 months of abuse (the top half came off). granted i'm pretty clumsy anyway, but i dropped it more than i do the slvr.
