Ehh, music today isn't any different than it was 1000 years ago. As a history and music major, music history has shown that "real" music, or what you're referring to as classical or romantic or symphonic music, take your pick, has always been a narrow niche for society. Opera brought music to the masses occasionally, but most of the time it was rustic folk music in bars and taverns, i.e. popular music. This music was simple, often a mind-numbingly annoying melody that got stuck in people's heads. The music you're referring to was limited to the nobility and the monasteries, at least until the French Revolution. So in reality, the pop music of today is no different than the pop music of yesterday. It's catchy, it's cool, and you won't remember it come five years from now.

I think you're pretty off-base comparing Midnyte and Dave Chappelle. Not only does Chappelle seem to make fun of everyone including his own group, it seems like he's doing it for "good" reasons (read: making fun of the stereotypes and trying to bring down the barriers that exist and don't even fucking try to say that Midnyte has done anything of the sort). I think all of those fall into the "making fun of racial stereotypes" bucket that I talked about above, and they serve a purpose. Take for example the racial draft; it poked fun at a bunch of different stereotypes from pretty much every race and showed the different races picking the people or qualities from other races that they wanted to add to their own. I fail to see what purpose anything that Midnyte has ever posted relating to race has ever served. What I do get are people who complain to me when they are offended, and when that happens I take a look at the big picture and decide if I need to talk to someone. Read the VV rules, you'll clearly see that there is a rule about trolling.
