I've started having some serious computer issues this past week.
Due to classes ending I hardly used my computer at all last
week and this weekend when I logged on WoW for the first time I
encountered my first problem. My graphics went totally crazy
with everything becoming super pixalated with random colors and
cycling all over the screen, almost like one of those ink splotch paintings. I really can't describe this accurately but I'll try to upload a screenshot I took somewhere so it will be understandable. At first I thought this was only a WoW problem because I could alt tab out and the graphics were
fine. After a day or so it started affecting my desktop and
everything else when it cropped up, which was only occasionally.
I figured if it wasn't WoW it was my graphics card so I
uninstalled the drivers and installed new ones, this failed to
solve anything and the problem only cropped up more. After that
failed to do anything I figured I would try a system restore
from last week before the point I first saw this happening, the
first one I tried did nothing so I went even farther back with
no success. This is when it started getting worse. Now my
computer randomly restarts itself, often times failing to
actually restart and going to safemode. Once so far it has
actually changed the BIOS settings and told me I needed to reset
them to the correct processor speed etc.
I'm totally at a loss here as I've never encountered anything
this wierd in a computer before. I built it myself a few years
back; it's a ASUS Nvidia MB with an ATI Radeon 9800, AMD athlon
processor (forgot the exact type offhand), DVD burner, CD burner
etc. If any other system specs might assist in diagnosing the
possible trouble please let me know.
PS: Sorry about the fucked up formatting, had to paste from notepad since my computer crashed the first couple times I typed this.

Fan is working fine and computer seems to be running fairly cool.
It's really frustrating because it is a very random occurance. Oftentimes I seem to be able to just browse the web and never have a problem. It does seem to crop up most often when I either play a game or watch a video etc. This does seem to reinforce the theory that something is wrong with the graphics card.
