How many people have been following the show and watched the finale? I thought, as far as series finales go, this was one of the best ones I'd seen in a long time. Showing how everyone passed away over the years was probably the perfect send off for a show about death and more importantly gave the closure that people are usually left without when a show ends.
I'm glad they ended it when they did. I don't think it would have held up for another season. It was nearly to the point where I was just rolling my eyes at how many fucking trials and tribulations the Fisher family went through week after week, haha.

I've never teared up as much in a TV show, hell not even many movies could top it. Partly cause you get so attached to such vibrant and "real" characters, also because those writers know how to bring out emotions in the viewer and make it look easy. Such a great finale to the show.
Speaking of Six Feet Under, if you go to their website at hbo.com you can read some of the scenes in script form from several episodes. Here's some great scenes.

I just finished with Season 5 on DVD last night, and the final episode actually brought closure to the series like others never do. This is something all series should aim for. I agree that it was time to bring the series to a close only because there seemed to be little more that the family could have happen to them.
