Lance Armstrong.

If you're asking a doping related question, and you want to make the assumption that doping has occurred by Tour champions in the modern era (Indurain, Armstrong, Lemond, Pantani, Ullrich, Merckx), I think you'd have to go back to Anquetil as the one who won the most clean.

That said, Armstrong has never tested positive for anything when there are plenty of other people who have, so... I give him the benefit of the doubt with the caveat that if there was ever definitive proof, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

That said, there's never been a book written about Armstrong with anywhere near the scope or sourcing as what has come out about Bonds. I think the funny thing about Bonds is that even without the recent power hitting, he was such an incredible athlete when he first came into the league. If he'd retired from Baseball in '96 there's no question in my mind that he would have been a hall of famer. Sad what he's alledged to have become.

Lance Armstrong. No proof beyond biased France-based speculation has come out involving Lance Armstrong and doping. It is just a fine exmaple of how repeated verbal attacks in public mediums can actually make people think the person has done something wrong. If proof ever actually manifests, then I'll be the firs person to back track on Lance.

You cannot have a list like that without Merxx in it, seriously!

Other than that I would probably say Armstrong.
