Not that those of us who actually read the history books don't already know this but I thought it would be interesting for those who don't know the defining characteristics of a fascist regime... You decide...

While I do feel that the powers in control are moving america into a facist state, using Eric Bloomberg's site as a source for anything is the leftist equivalent of citing Drudge as a source.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."
Dwight Eisenhower

Look guys, I'm not saying it's all correct and the source might not be the best but if some of the points don't make you at least consider that what is going on in this country right now isn't all what it seems, then we have a problem.
Do I think we are going to turn into the Nazi States of America? No... far from it. However I do think, actually this is more fact, that we are giving up similar liberties for "securty" that the German people gave up in the 20s and very early 30s... before anything truly disturbing started taking place. All I'm saying is consider that this country has stood as a beacon of Freedom for over 200 years, sure we made some gross mistakes but in general the US stood for Justice and Liberty... that's not the perception of many Americans today and definitely not the perception of much of the rest of the world.
Before you go there I'm not saying America should continually subjagate itself to the will of other nations but at the same time... any good leader knows that you always listen to what the descenting voice has to say in order to keep yourself in check. I do not believe we are doing that anymore, especially not this administration.
I'm not a peace monger freak leftist or a "right-wing nut job" but I am a realist and reality is that something is wrong. No it's not as bad as this little flash thing makes it out to be... but something is definitely wrong.
Ask yourself, could you see Reagan, Bush Sr. or Clinton doing or advocating some of the things Bush and his people are doing? I can't. The point isn't wheither you are a Democrat or a Republican, the point should be that you are American and you care about the future of our nation, not just for yourself or your family but because it is the right thing to do.
