They put together a shitty team. They need younger skaters like Staal, Spezza, and Crosby.

Coaching sucked too. Why would you hire a guy that is coaching a losing team?

I agree, they should have included some of the younger guys... but there was absolutely nothing wrong with the coaching.. and the last time I checked, 27-25 isn't a losing record...And for a team which is near the top of the league in man games lost to injury, is certainly not too bad.

Honestly the team wasn't bad but it had some definate flaws. Nash, Thornton and a couple others were all but invisible. The defense looked slow and McCabe, as much as I like the guy, was a disaster. Even on the guys who were a little better there was no fire: some of that is on the players, some of that is on the coach. Pat Quinn failed just as much as the players themselves did. I could have handled losing to better teams, but these guys just plain didn't show up most of the time and thats the sad part, not like the women who went for the throat every game and provided such a stark contrast.

No shit.
He wasn't getting any openings and when he pinched, the passes weren't getting to him. His defense was pretty suspect a lot of times as well.

Aside from the hockey loss, yesterday was a simply amazing day for our Canadian athletes. Klassen was awesome and Chandra Crawford's unbridled excitement on the podium was the most memorable moments of these Olympics.

Coaching is responsible for putting lineups together. Quinn totally fucked with the Bertuzzi/Richards line by seperating them the next game.

In my opinion, they didnt put guys that could feed off each other.

Canadian men's got a well-deserved kick in the ass this year. Mostly to remind us that NHL is spectacle, not skill. Also because they picked an all-scoring no-D lineup whose only idea of a play is banging up against people, which the open ice killed them for.

Screw canadian pride. You put together a group of random knuckleheads with no chemestry as a team just because they thrive on the Short Bus that is the NHL, and the world teams are going to eat you alive.

I have a very good friend who works for hockey Canada that was in Turino. He gave me information as to how the players are.

Sakic and Iginla were by far the most respected people in that lockerroom. Nearly every player listened to those 2 when they spoke.

However, certain players had a negative affect, players like Spezza and Heatly (showboats who thought they were better than everyone in that room). Brodeur was also very unhappy during the entire trip for some reason. I believe my friend said "completely miserable the entire time".

When they pick the team in 4 years, I hope they have more speed, more defense and less negative energy.
