Rainbow Six Lockdown Demo

Post by noel »

I've been messing with this a bit, I haven't spent oodles of time with it, but so far here are my impressions:

-The feel of the movement is apalling.
-The gameplay appears to have been significantly dumbed down and the enemy AI is nothing interesting or new (typical of a bad console port).
-Graphically, the Rainbow Six shooters appear very detailed and good looking. The environment is very meh, and the enemies look like shit.
- Team control is ok, but was done much better in SWAT 4 and Republic Commando (which are both a lot of fun if you've not checked them out).
- Single teams now of 4 people total. No multiple team control and I didn't see any way to split up the team that you have ala SWAT 4.

They've removed the tedium of mission planning, but without good AI or better graphics, the game is overall just meh. Based on the demo I'd recommend saving your money.

Splinter Cell 4 should be out in a month or so, and I still have high hopes for that.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

The first Rainbow Six was innovative, original, and fucking awesome. Every other sequel has been utter shit, and the genre has been expanded and improved upon by other game makers.
