This thread might actually go somewhere if it was instead titled "Jukebox Hero."

Grabbed this off the newgroups. Kinda fun even using the gamepad.

I hit 92% of the notes while playing Joan Jet's I Love Rock and Roll

Rock on!

Not sure if I'd buy it but might be fun playing head to head against someone. Better than DDR...same concept though, hit the notes as they flow down the screen.

....

OK, just rocked out to Ozzy's Iron Man...that was fun! Missed one of my solos though...what a pisser. Crowd starts booing you if you suck too bad.

Damn ZZ Top Sharp Dressed man is a tough one. 93%

All on easy mode. I imagine medium hard and expert will give you a workout.

94% hit notes. It really sounds like crap when you miss one.

---
Edit: It's addicting!

96% on "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand. First song that had multiple notes to hit at one time. Sweet. I can totally picture people geeking out on the guitar that comes with the retail game. Good party game for sure unless you're insecure with your air guitar moves. hehe.

Edit 2:

Tried Judas Priest, You've Got Another Thing Coming on Expert mode...holy crap! no fucking way...you've got to be on crack to hit all of those notes flying down the screen. I can see this game having some replay value if you're determined to make it through songs in expert mode.

Pantera "Cowbow from Hell" and Ozzy "Bark at the Moon" are nuts on Medium. SRV "Texas Flood" is pretty damn hard too.

Game is much much better with an axe in hand winnow ;)

I started the carreer mode. This is a perfect example of a game not needing spectacular graphics to be entertaining. It's just a bunch of colored dots scrolling down the screen and smashing buttons but damn it's fun.

for some reason, I can hear the lyrics of songs better while playing this game. I also have a better appreciation for quality rock you can pick out the more difficult ones compatred to the easy stuff like "I Love Rock and Roll" even though that's a good song.

When a good song comes on, this game makes you want to hit every note. I don't want to risk upsetting the rock gods by screwing up a legendary song like Iron Man. Songs like Iron man and Judas Priest's "You've got Another Thing Coming" with the notes that are held for a long time are my favorite to play.

This has got to be the easiest game in history to create a sequel for. If it was on the PC, you could have expansion packs. It's addictive in the way a game like Tetris is addictive although so much more satisfying and entertianing with the music involved.

Good stuff. I really am tempted to buy a PS2 game for the first time since FFX. I hope this heads to the PC though.

Picked it up on Saturday and the game is, in fact, a total pisser to play. I think I have about 26 of the first 32ish songs completed on easy so far.

When I accidentally played in quick mode on medium, I was surprised just how much more difficult it was using the fourth fret button. It was actually fun getting my ass kicked so I can definitely see climbing through the difficulty levels until I peak.

update: just about through the medium difficulty and they toss Texas Flood in as an available song. It was a blast playing a SRV song. Then you got Godzilla by blue oyster cult and take me out by franz ferdinand, jeez it's good stuff.
