Just got back from the movie.... whoa... that was awesome...

Its going to have a much wider appeal than fans of the show, which will sell the DVD box sets, which will make Joss rich and get the show back
Damn, thats how a SciFi movie should be made... jarjarbinksless....

Saw the preview to Aeon Flux also... not sure Charlize can pull it off....

Go go Serenity! It will most likely be movie sequels and not a return to TV for the crew of Firefly.

It's amazing how many comparisons to Star Wars are being made by critics. That's high praise indeed. It's easy to understand why...Serenity has great characters just like the ORIGINAL Star Wars trilogy. No matter what the setting of a movie is, it's all about the characters in the end.
"I can't believe I am saying this, but I think Serenity could be the new Star Wars."
"Like watching the original Star Wars for the first time, or better yet, watching The Empire Strikes Back... Mal is a guy who would shoot Greedo first."
"Can proudly be placed alongside “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Blade Runner” as one of the best science-fiction movies of modern cinema."
"The cleverest, crankiest, wittiest, wildest, and most character-driven sci-fi adventure in 25 years; it's the best outer-space trip I've been on since the empire struck back."
"Serenity flies with sass and spirit, qualities that have been in palpably short supply in that Star Wars series since, well, Star Wars."
"Joss Whedon's unassuming science-fiction adventure is superior in almost every respect to George Lucas's aggressively more ambitious screen entertainments."
I hope it's good after all of that!

As a non-fan, I'd have to disagree.

It's got to be fake. The back cover description of the movie is horrible. Although I'd recommend the version described in the names of the jpegs as the best version on the newsgroups of the movie if looking to see it again while waiting for the real DVD.

I thought Serenity was going to be a great movie with a good story, but I didn't get caught up in it at all. I would have liked some more background story in the movie.

If you watched Firefly would you enjoy the movie more? Because as a stand alone movie it was pretty weak.

yes, it is a lot better since you have the background story of each individual member.
