At least it looks like this one won't get very big and won't affect the U.S. Unfortunately, it doesn't take a big hurricane to cause a lot of damage in Nicaragua.

Ermmmmm last I checked:

1) Nicaragua is in latin AMERICA hence they are americans...

2) The membership of this board is International

3) Many of us from the USA actually care about what happens elsewhere because we aren't stupid enough to think it doesn't affect us.

4) Many of us know and like Hoarmurath and value his input and interests, and yanno in all my years on Veeshan and VV I have never heard of you...

First, I have to disagree with an interesting tidbit that I got from reading Weather Underground was the possibility (although it appears slight) that a Greek-letter storm would get its name retired if it was strong enough and caused enough damage. I don't think there is a provision for retiring letters of the Greek alphabet.

I will know that we are living in the end days when we see Hurricane Omega*!

*after which we start naming hurricanes after prominent VV posters!**

**not really

They leave out Q, U, X, Y, and Z. Supposedly becaause the pool of names for those letters is too small. Which kind of sucks because I think "Zelda" would be a great name for a hurricane.
