So I guess the stories of babies getting raped and people walking through piles of dead bodies was a wee bit of an exaggeration.

Reports of dozens of rapes at both facilities - many allegedly involving small children - may forever remain a question mark. Rape is a notoriously underreported crime under ideal circumstances, and tracking down evidence at this point, with evacuees spread all over the country, would be nearly impossible.

I tend to think local print media is far more credible than those cable infotainment media conglomerates.

And why would CNN/Fox/MSNBC/etc go out of their way to report on something that damages their 'credibility'?

NOLA is THE NO new source man, but it is local and that ius why you have not heard of it.

I ignored half the BS that was being reported off the bat, because anyone with a clue knew it was politcally motivated. BTW when you see stories about this that relate to mostly poor, mostly black people in the southern US, you can bet some redneck is encouraging, them and adding to them. Only a racist would not take them with a grain of salt.
