Blackberries...

It's that time of year...I picked a few pints of Blackberries out in the woods today...Here's what I did with mine...

Vanilla Ice Cream
3 Cups Blackberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Rainwater Madeira

Combine 2 cups, sugar, water, and madeira in a small staiinless saucepan bring to a light boil stirring constantly. When the liquid barely coats a spoon puree' the mixture, strain through a chinoise to remove seeds. Return to saucepan and reduce to a thick/syrup consistency occasionally brushing down the sides with boiling water to prevent sugar crystallization.

Spoon remaining Blackberries over Ice Cream. Top with warm syrup. Eat...mmmmmm....

Cause then I don't have to make pie dough, just yummy crumblies

I missed berry season in NY, no black caps and milk for me.

God I love blackberries...rinsed and alone is wonderful, but if I feel like it sometimes I just put them in a bowl with a decent amount of milk and a small amount of sugar to taste. Mash. stir and eat/drink up!
