SEOUL, South Korea - A South Korean man who played computer games for 50 hours almost non-stop died of heart failure minutes after finishing his mammoth session in an Internet cafe, authorities said on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old man, identified only by his family name Lee, had been playing online battle simulation games at the cybercafe in the southeastern city of Taegu, police said.

Lee had planted himself in front of a computer monitor to play online games on Aug. 3. He only left the spot over the next three days to go to the toilet and take brief naps on a makeshift bed, they said

Just 50 hours?

Don't make 'em like they used to, do they?

Aye Hesten, I heard that he got trapped there because he couldn't remember his way out of the tunnels back to real life.

Be careful!

This story sort of pissed me off.

The guy took naps - that is NOT consistent gaming - and only 50 hours? Jesus most of us could probably pull off 4 days with ease if we were really into the game.

I guess what I'm saying is - the only reason this is news is because he died. If he was as strong as the rest of us, it wouldn't have been an issue.

Yeah, this is kind of pathetic. Is this supposed to be a message to everyone that computer games are TEH DEBIL and that if you play them too much you will die?

I have a hard time believing this guy didn't have some kind of condition or that there wasn't some other extenuating circumstance that they aren't mentioning in this article.

The above 2 posts are true!

This pussy just couldn't hack it, he couldn't call himself a bloody gamer if his life depended on it

It brings shades of that Shawn Wooley clusterfuck back.

Well....it doesn't, but Shawn Wooleygate was hilarious and I just felt like mocking him indirectly by letting his "legend" live on.
