i've been doing cardio daily to get in shape for the past 3 weeks and started some light free weight lifting every other day for the past 2 weeks
i have also been doing crunches; but old back and shoulder injuries really hurt and prevent me from doing as much of a work out as i feel i could/should be doing with my abs
kwon or anyone else do you know of any special work out i can do for abs and obliques that i can do without having to lay on my back and crunch? i'm currently tearing the shit out of my spine and lower back hah
even if it's some device i have to buy; i'm willing to do pretty much anything and buy anything within reason...i plan to be a machine of a person 8 months from now ^^
ab workout help

1. Start with a mat on the floor! Might even use 2 mats
Most gyms have mats you can use
If you still have problems (even with 2 mats under yer back)
2. You can do Roman Chair while sitting on a bench and/or use an Ab-machine like the one Gary Strydom is using in this video

Gary Strydom is the Blonde Aussie fellow, i think he is second in the vid
First is Samir Lion from Lebanon and Gary is after him.

You can also use the "antigravity" machines, where you curl your legs around a bar sort of and hang vertically with your head down, then crunch from that position. It gives you a very good work out and should take the stress off your back.
I hope my explanation is clear enough for you to know what kind of machine i mean, if it isn't, let me know and I will try and dig up a picture.
