Whatever it takes for all involved to reach orgasm. The situation (stuck in an elevator vs 4th time that night for example) has a lot to do with it. If you can get your partner hot and bothered with verbal stimulation as well as physically, it doesn't have to take huge amounts of time. In fact, you might suck at love making if it does. Sex has a big mental element to it along with the physical part (if you actually care about your partner's enjoyment of the act)

A good rule of thumb is foreplay should be twice as long as actual sex, and cuddle time should take less time than it takes semen to dry. If she was thinking ahead and has a towel to clean up, plan on being there awhile!

Overall, I'd say my average sex stuff, from beginning to end is about an hourish. If we're feeling extra playful, it can take the better part of an evening.
