You are paying for the bottling of the fluid in each of those examples. The actual drinks themselves cost next to nothing. If you purchased gas in bottles, you'd be paying a fortune per gallon for that as well.

hell, maybe 10,000 gallons, i have no idea how much i use, i just konw it is thousands of gallons and it is never less than $20, and never more than $25.
since it costs $22 to put 12 gallons of gas in my toyota, i'm saying water is a lot cheaper =)

The reason why places like Sam's Club, Price Club, BJ's, et al. are so popular is because stuff is cheaper when sold in bulk. Without taking that into account, those comparisons are flawed.
