Netflix?

Post by Marbus »

So I'm not using these guys yet, but from what many have posted I should be. Is everyone pretty happy with them?

I couldn't be happier :) Helps that they got a shipment office here in Cleveland so shipping is usually very very fast as well. Excellent service!

bottom line is probably this:

if you feel like in your area, the Postal Service is good, then Netflix will be good.

Netflix has a distribution center in Atlanta, so basically if you are a customer here, the shipping is practically as reliable as FedEx overnight. obviously, your mileage may vary.

If you watch 4+ rentals a month then the value is definately there.

Think we are going to try it, OK City and St.Louis are usually only a day away mail wise so we should be good. Anyone got any of those free months left to give it a try?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I gave Netflix a try again and had to cancel after 3 months
The first 2 months everything was perfect, after that they started their tricks again, discs ariving broken (twice), shipping new discs with est.arrival date 5-6 days in advance (wtf??) I enrolled because they said in their e-mail pitch that they have a distribution center in Chicago and are shipping from there so at first ( the first 2 months) the arrival date was only 2 days after shipping (except Sundays) and discs arrived even next day most of the time

Anyway I felt like they are trying to control how much I'm watching plus 20 bucks is more than 15 that Blockbuster offers, so I'm on my second month of Blockbuster online subscription now
Will see what happens down the road, so far so good

Odd, I have only had a couple movies take more than 2 days and most are one day. I checked the envelopes on the ones that took longer, and they just came from different distribution centers which I didn't find odd since they were fairly obscure titles.

Never had any lost movies, never had any damaged movies etc.

Glad it's working out for you. One tip I have if you want to get things like TV Series. Watch the availability column in your queue. If you have one go beyond anything but 'Now,' move the entire series down a couple spots. I have been watching the first three seasons of Alias, and Season 2 Disc 5 was delayed. I didn't catch that and I got disc 6, and season 3 discs 1-3. Luckilly I have the 5 movie plan, and I got disc 5 a couple days later. It just meant that I had 4 discs sitting here that I really couldn't watch yet, heh.
